Ms. Corraini is General Counsel of Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. She joined Xenon in mid-2001, with 18 years of business and legal experience in the medical & biotechnology fields, and 4 years clinical experience in the medical laboratory technology field. At Xenon, Ms. Corraini focuses on the negotiation & drafting of commercial contracts and licenses, as well as provides counsel on a broad range of corporate, IP, employment, and other legal matters. Prior to joining Xenon, she practised law with McCarthy Tétrault's Intellectual Property and Technology Law Groups, was Managing Director/CEO of the Canadian Bacterial Diseases Network, and held several management-level sales/marketing positions with Technicon Instruments Corporation/Technicon Canada Inc. (now Bayer). Ms. Corraini is an active member of the Law Society of BC, Canadian Bar Association, BC BIOTECH Association, the Canada/USA Licensing Executive Society, and the Association of University Technology Managers. Ms. Corraini obtained her Medical Laboratory Technology Degree in 1974, subsequently studied at the faculties of Science at the University of Calgary and University of Alberta, and obtained her LL.B. (1991) from the University of Victoria. |
