Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics
Scope of the Position

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Xenon’s drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics function.
  • Scientific oversight and management of all ADME/PK studies supporting drug discovery projects across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Manage relationships with CRO’s supporting DMPK activities where applicable.
  • Development and maintenance of methodologies, SOP’s and other components of the ADME/PK department's processes.
  • Provide regular updates on DMPK activities to senior management.
  • Create and maintain a work environment in which scientific challenge and innovation are maximized and communication is open.
  • Serve as the DMPK representative on Discovery teams, providing functional area expertise and interacting with scientists across all disciplines in developing and executing development strategies.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics or a related pharmaceutical science.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience in applying ADME/PK to the discovery and development of small molecules that have successfully advanced in clinical development.
  • Experience in CNS indications preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with mechanistic approaches to understanding the metabolism and pharmacokinetics of novel small molecule therapeutics as applicable to drug discovery and development.
  • Experience with regulatory filings is required and with FDA interactions is preferred.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), organization, networking and interpersonal skills are essential.
