Vancouver, Canada - Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc., a drug discovery and development company, is pleased to announce today that it has appointed Vijay Sondhi as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Sondhi has spent the past 16 years in the high technology sector in Europe and the United States. He held CFO and co-CEO positions with IXOS Software AG (subsequently acquired by Open TextTM Corporation) where he led the company’s successful IPO on the NASDAQ and Frankfurt stock exchanges. He was also CFO of Fidelio Software GmbH where he assisted in the sale of the company to MICROS Systems, Inc. Mr. Sondhi’s most recent position was Managing Director at Allianz Venture Partners GmbH, a EURO 300 million venture capital fund based in Munich. Mr. Sondhi received an MBA from Columbia University, New York and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver.
