Charles Cohen has served as a Board member since March 1999. Dr. Cohen is Chairman of CellZone, a founder and director of Exelixis Pharmaceuticals and the previous Chief Executive Officer of CellZome. He was also a founder of Creative BioMolecules and acted as their Chief Scientific Officer from 1990 to 2000. He has served as a member of Creative BioMolecules’ Board of Directors from April 1982 to 2000. Dr. Cohen previously served as Creative BioMolecules’ Chief Executive Officer from 1985-1991 and from 1993-1995, President from 1985-1991 and from January to July of 1995, Chairman of the Board from 1990-1995 and Vice President and Scientific Director from 1982-1985. Prior to that, he was Manager of Biochemical Development for Waters Associates, a manufacturer of chromatography and filtration equipment, at the time a subsidiary of Millipore Corporation. Dr. Cohen received his PhD in Basic Medical Science from New York University School of Medicine and served as a Research Fellow in the University of Virginia's Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry.
