The Research Associate will conduct in vivo efficacy and CNS/CV safety studies required for various drug discovery programs. The RA will coordinate with the in vitro screening team to develop new biomarker assays.
Responsibilities:
- Performing murine experiments for acute, neuropathic and inflammatory pain by preparing the room and test subjects.
- Grouping subjects for the study and habituate them appropriately.
- Dosing by oral gavage, subcutaneous, intraperitoneal and/or intravenous administration.
- Collecting plasma and tissue samples.
- Performing various surgical procedures.
- Performing behavioral studies using murine models for the screening of novel analgesic compounds, perform CNS safety studies and liaising with multiple functions across departments.

Knowledge & Education Requirements:
- A MSc/BSc degree in biology, physiology, pharmacology or neuroscience with 0-3 years experience.
- Experience conducting basic in vivo and/or in vitro procedures, such as drug administration, blood collection, murine handling and care or in vitro biochemical or pharmacological assays.
- Experience with behavioral assessment of murine models is highly desirable although training will be provided.
- Excellent record keeping, attention to detail and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment and be flexible in adapting to change.
