Scope of this Position
The Research Associate II will work under the supervision of the Associate Director ADME- Bio-analytical. The job will include various aspect of conducting ADME assays and bio-analysis, including bio-analytical method development, sample preparation for routine LC-MS/MS analysis and data reduction and presentation. *One-year term contract
Accountabilities & Deliverables
The Research Associate will be responsible for carrying out sample preparation including solid phase extraction and/or other means of samples extraction for routine of in-house bio-analytical studies including pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), protein binding, metabolic stability of new chemical entities (NCE) and other studies as needed.
The Research Associate is also expected to conduct independent method development studies when required using LC-MS and LC-MS/MS methodologies.
The Research Associate will process and summarize data from bio-analytical studies including data input into software packages such as Win-non-Lin.
The Research Associate will also conduct in vitro ADME assays as requested, including metabolic stability, protein binding and CYP inhibition.
Knowledge & Education Requirements
- BSc in Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry
- At Least 5-year experience in bio-analytical chemistry with emphasis on LC-MS techniques as applied in drug discovery.
- Experience with metabolic stability studies and basic knowledge of Win-non-Lin are assets.
- Certificate level instruction in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous: WHMIS, Bio safety training and Chemical training
